The roaches have better living conditions than the residents.
1. This place is infested with GERMAN ROACHES. Not the occasional water bug they pretend wandered in from outside. The kind that multiply like crazy, carry harmful bacteria, and treat your kitchen like their personal Airbnb. I set up traps and found heavy traffic behind my fridge and in my closet. Within days, it was clear that it was an infestation. Living here honestly broke my soul. It was a humbling experience in the worst way and lit a fire under me to work harder in school so I never have to put myself in this kind of living situation again just because it was "affordable." I brought my own furniture and gaming PC and those roaches got into them too. So if you're thinking of moving here and bringing furniture, just know if you ever move back home, that furniture is good as trash because you will bring those roaches with you.
2. One elevator has been broken for nearly a YEAR. The second? Dead for months. And of course, the timing was flawless because it was right during Thanksgiving through New Years, when every student had to pack up and haul everything up and down 8 flights of stairs. There was a handicap military veteran living in that building too and it was genuinely painful watching him struggle up those stairs with his cane. Nothing says "home for the holidays" like carrying groceries, luggage, and a dog up multiple flights. My asthma flared, my dog's back got inflamed (thanks, IVDD), and I dropped $350+ on vet bills because of those stairs.
3. The laundry machines are filthy and the dryers are a complete joke. One runs for 45 minutes, another for an hour but somehow both leave my clothes wet or damp. I've spent money to essentially move my laundry from the washer to a slightly less wet version of itself.
4. The Wi-Fi is a nightmare. As a student in a tech-heavy major, reliable internet isn't a luxury, it's a necessity. But this building's Wi-Fi loves to vanish during holidays and weekends, because apparently my deadlines aren't as important as its vacation schedule. I had to figure out their ISP myself so that I could call and beg them to fix it because it got that bad.
5. The maintenance guy was the only staff who actually seemed to care. The rest showed zero urgency when it came to residents problems.
Save yourself the headache. Don't live here. If you’re a parent, please don’t do this to your child.
